My journey began like many musicians—I’d spend hours in my room learning my favorite songs on electric guitar, dreaming of playing in a band and finding a sense of belonging in the music world. I was obsessed with understanding how my favorite bands created incredible songs and built careers in music. But as much as I loved playing, two nagging questions kept echoing in my mind:“Am I actually good at this?”and “Will anyone like what I have to share?”

It wasn’t hard to find a guitar teacher to help me master the basics, but when it came to transitioning from player to performer, I was on my own. How do I write a good song? How do I record my music? How do I book a show? I craved guidance, community, and a clear path forward—but instead, I felt overwhelmed and unsure of my next steps.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve followed this journey relentlessly. I’ve performed in cities like Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia, recorded and released my own music on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, and coached students to play multiple instruments and perform in bands. Along the way, I’ve built incredible friendships and learned firsthand how to navigate the challenges of becoming a musician.
